Coldingham Village News
14 and 15 August 2010 - Coldingham Priory - Gravestone Recordings
Coldingham Priory. Over the weekend 14th and 15th August some members of the Borders Family History Society will be recording gravestone inscriptions. The last partial recording was done in 1969 and as Coldingham has a very large number of stones, any assistance from members of the public will be welcome.
If you can help for an hour or so the activity will be from 10am until 4pm on Saturday and/or from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday. Full training is given on transcribing. Please bring a notebook, pen/pencil, a light brush and perhaps a kneeling pad and chalk and water.
It would be helpful if numbers are known in advance and if possible, please phone Julia Carter on 018907 71420.
6 and 7 August 2010 - Three Wheeled Cycle Marathon in Coldingham
Not sure if you were aware that a solo three-wheeled reclining cycle marathon will be passing through Coldingham on August 6th 2010 and August 7th 2010.
Hopefully people will turn out to give Max Burt support in his efforts to raise awareness through this publicity campaign to change perceptions: a campaign to highlight both the diversity in disability, and the positive common experience of the ability to overcome obstacles - diversability (a new word).
